Small Business for America’s Future co-chair to testify Tuesday at Senate hearing on pandemic impacts on tourism and hospitality industry

Small Business for America’s Future Co-Chair Shaundell Newsome to testify before the Senate Committee on Commerce’s Subcommittee on Tourism at hearing on investing in America’s tourism and hospitality workforce and small businesses

Washington, D.C., May 24, 2021—Small Business for America’s Future Co-Chair Shaundell Newsome will testify at 3.m. EDT Tuesday at the Senate Committee on Commerce’s Subcommittee on Tourism hearing about “Investing in America’s Tourism and Hospitality Workforce and Small Business.” Newsome is the owner of Sumnu Marketing in Las Vegas, Nev., and chairman of the Las Vegas Urban Chamber of Commerce.

The hearing will cover what is needed to rebuild the tourism and hospitality industries, which were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Much of Nevada's economy is built on small businesses involved in tourism and hospitality, and many more small businesses depend on the trade this industry generates,” Newsome said. “Helping tourism and hospitality recover is crucial to the economic health of small businesses in my state and across the country. Investment is the key to enabling those small businesses to get back on their feet and re-hire their workforce.”
