Small business group applauds historic small business growth, policies that support economic climate for innovation in country and Nevada

Small Business for America’s Future Senior Advisor Rhett Buttle and Co-chair Shaundell Newsome, Co-founder of Sumnu Marketing in Las Vegas comment on Biden-Harris Administration's upcoming visit to Nevada to talk about small business success and growth.

Las Vegas, Jan. 26, 2024
– “We are excited to hear Vice President Kamala Harris, Small Business Administration Administrator Isabel Guzman and Congressman Steven Horsford (NV-4th District) discuss the enthusiasm surrounding entrepreneurship with 16 million new small business applications filed since 2021. Last year, small business applications in Nevada alone were up by 16 percent. Small business ownership is a key pathway to building wealth and helps bolster our economy.

“It's particularly encouraging to see small business ownership growth in underserved groups who were hit the hardest during the pandemic.
The number of Black entrepreneurs doubled and Latino business ownership is up by 40% since 2019.

“This is happening because of policies that have created an environment ripe for innovation and job creation. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
provides key tools and resources to empower Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Black, Latino, and Native American entrepreneurs while also rebuilding our nation’s crumbling roads and bridges.

“It also shows the success that comes when policymakers can put aside their differences and work together to come up with sound solutions that benefit hard working Americans. That’s why 95% of respondents in a recent Small Business for America’s Future
survey believe stable government leadership is important to the overall health of the economy and small business.

“In order for this growth to sustain we are urging lawmakers to focus on legislation that will support Main Street small businesses.”
