STATEMENT: Arizona business owner applauds Biden Administration’s economic plan and policies after attending Phoenix event with President

Statement by Phoenix’s Patricia McKinley, a Small Business for America’s Future Network member and co-owner of KHAVL Transport LLC McKinley on the president’s remarks about the positive impact of his economic plan.

Dec. 6, 2022–Small Business for America’s Future Network member Patricia McKinley, the co-owner of KHAVL Transport LLC McKinley, a trucking company attended President Biden’s event at the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company in Phoenix today where he discussed the impact of his economic plan. She issued the following statement:

“The COVID-19 pandemic nearly broke me. I almost died after contracting the virus and my business suffered. I needed help to survive and government recovery programs helped me bounce back. PPL and EIDL loans helped me pay my employees when construction projects were at a standstill.

“Now that business is ramping up, legislation like the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping small business owners like me reap the benefits. Much needed construction projects in Arizona are getting funding and small businesses are helping get the work done for projects that will make Arizona a safer place to travel and improve the quality of life of the people who  live and work here.

“Small businesses are still navigating inflationary pressures but will start to see the benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act that will help ease inflation by paying down the deficit and reducing costs of healthcare and prescription drugs.

It also evens the playing field by ensuring big businesses that often get away with paying little to no federal income tax, pay their fair share by putting a minimum corporate tax of 15% in place. A recent SBAF survey found 79% of small businesses support creating a minimum 15% tax rate for large corporations. The tax would generate $220 million in revenue.”
