STATEMENT: Presidential Visit to Greater Cincinnati Area Highlights what Bipartisan Cooperation can Accomplish for Small Business & Economy

Small Business for America’s Future Co-Chair Anne Zimmerman Founder & Owner, Zimmerman & Co. CPAs and Treasurer of Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce in Cincinnati, comments on benefits of bipartisan economic achievements

Jan. 4, 2023–As we enter a new legislative session, it is great to see a bipartisan visit to the Ohio-Kentucky border by President Biden, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and governors from both states planned for today near the site of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project. The project received $1.64 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Functional infrastructure is crucial to a thriving small business economy and this project is an example of what can be accomplished when politicians from both parties bridge their divides for the betterment of the people they serve. As a resident and business owner in Cincinnati, I know that the investment in this infrastructure project will be a boon to our economy and community.

Implementation of this law, passed with bipartisan support, will be another positive step forward in repairing an economy battered by the pandemic—and it will help small businesses across the country, including in Ohio.

It is our hope that in the new legislative session, lawmakers will see the benefits of working across the aisle to strengthen our economy rather than focusing on political grievances.
