STATEMENT: Small Business Group applauds efforts to boost Main Street through economic and climate initiatives

Statement by Small Business for America’s Future network member Sandy Levine, Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Chartreuse Kitchen & Cocktails, Freya, Dragonfly, and The Oakland who attended Vice President Kamala Harris’ event in Ann Arbor, Michigan this week

Ann Arbor, Michigan, Jan. 13, 2023– I was glad to see Vice President Kamala Harris talking about new policies that combat climate change and stimulate a clean energy economy that will help boost small businesses while addressing one of the most pressing problems of our time. 

The Inflation Reduction Act helps fight the climate crisis while helping small businesses rebound from the pandemic by lowering healthcare costs and addressing the unfair tax advantages enjoyed by large corporations. Investing in clean energy helps communities by creating new jobs, providing contracting opportunities for small businesses and spurring economic growth. It is no surprise that a Small Business for America’s Future survey found that 74% of small business owners support the Act, which invests in the clean energy economy.

The successful implementation of programs in the Inflation Reduction Act will help small businesses and our economy grow and thrive. I hope the new Congress can take inspiration from the benefits of the Act as it is implemented and unite to pass more legislation that invests in all our futures.
