STATEMENT: Small Business Group Supports Climate Initiatives That Will Help Main Street Thrive

Business owners in the Small Business for America’s Future network react to Vice President Kamala Harris’s discussion on the current administration’s efforts to combat the climate crisis.

Denver, Colorado, March 6, 2023–
Vice President Kamala Harris participated in a discussion about the climate crisis and the current bold policy that tackles one of the most pressing issues of our time and strengthens our economy.

The Inflation Reduction Act includes aggressive legislative action to combat the climate crisis while helping small businesses with some of the most significant economic pressure they face including inflation, healthcare costs and the unfair tax advantages enjoyed by large corporations.

The policy is popular among small business owners, with 75% supporting the climate provision in a Small Business for America’s Future survey.

Here’s what other small business owners are saying about Vice President Kamala Harris’s visit:

“I am dedicated to helping the climate crisis. My small business promotes people to switch to sustainable energy solutions and use of eco-friendly, reusable products in schools, hospitals, and other institutions. Everyone should play a role in protecting our earth and recent climate policies like the Inflation Reduction Act take strong steps in helping fight the climate crisis and helping our economy.

“It's fitting to see Vice President Kamala Harris lead a discussion about the climate crisis just as we gear up for International Women’s Day on Wednesday. Women will play a key role in fixing the crisis and will benefit from policies like the Inflation Reduction Act that create a clean energy economy that will help women-owned businesses like mine strive.”

“I was pleased to hear about the current administration's dedication to fighting the climate crisis. Recent policies like the Inflation Reduction Act will not only stimulate a clean energy economy, it will lower healthcare costs and address unfair tax advantages enjoyed by corporations. I encourage lawmakers in Washington to work together and develop more policy that prioritizes issues that hold Main Street back.
