Small Business Group: Signing of American Rescue Plan a Big Win for Small Businesses Seeking to Adapt and Rebuild from Pandemic

Statement by Rhett Buttle, senior advisor to Small Business for America’s Future and former national business advisor at Biden for President, on today’s presidential signing of the American Rescue Plan

Washington, D.C., March 11, 2021—President Joe Biden’s signing of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan today is an important moment for the country’s small businesses seeking to recover from the economic fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The bill contains grants and capital for small businesses and stimulus payments for small business customers, as well as support for vaccinations and reopening schools, all of which are crucial for an economic recovery that will help Main Street small businesses rebuild. The importance of this legislation to small business is reflected by the fact that an overwhelming 69% of small business owners support it

America’s 30 million small businesses are a crucial component of the nation’s economy, employing nearly half of all workers, providing valuable goods and services, and creating economic activity in all our communities. With the American Rescue Plan now in place, Main Street small businesses can begin to rebuild, grow and lead the country’s economic recovery.
